Ric Flair

I just got done reading the book "To Be The Man" by Pro Wrestler Ric Flair. The book tells the story of his life, how he got into the business and how Wrestling operates. I found his stories very interesting and entertaining. After being in the professional for more than 30 years he had plenty of them. He talks about how the business has changed over the years and he talks about many of the personalities that are involved. For a book that had almost 500 pages, I found it to be a quick read. If you like Wrestling you will like this book, it was fun.
Nights in Rodnate

It was the little ladies pick for the movie this week and she picked Nights in Rodante. I have to admit, I was not big on seeing this chick flick, but God knows she has seen a lot of sport movies in the last 2 years.
I have to say, this was a great story. It was very believable and very entertaining. Not once was I concerned about what time it was or when the movie might be over. Richard Geer and Diane Lane are absolutley wonderful in this movie. I really enjoyed. It is definetly worth seeing.

If you are looking for a funny movie to watch. Rent RV with Robin Williams and Jeff Daniels. I have to admit when the movie came out, I thought the previews were dumb, but I was wrong and I laughed myself silly.
So if you not in the mood for mind stimulation rent are RV, it's a good time.
I am looking for the best pizza in Austin. I am taking a poll. Who do you think has the best pizza in the capital city? Because I have not found it yet and want to try it.

Looks like he found it!
Untraceable

I went to see Untraceable starring Diane Lane. The movie is about a serial killer who uses the internet to help kill his victims. The acting and plot are pretty good. Diane is great in this movie. But the storyline is a little predictable. It's not a bad movie. It's a pretty good thriller. It just had me scratching my head a few times and then I had remind myself that it was just a movie. It is rated R for violence, but that didn't seem to bother the 8 children under the age of 6 that I counted in the theatre. I give it a rating of 2 and a half stars.

The Calls To Mary-Kate

I think the media this past week has made too much out of the whole Mary-Kate Olsen thing concerning Heath Ledgers death. I agree that it was odd that the house keeper called her first instead of calling 911, but everything I heard about his death there was the mention of Mary-Kate. (She was called 3 times by the house keeper before paramedics were called and 1 time after.) The housekeeper was probably in shock. So she called her, maybe the next time she comes across a body she will know what to do.

Charlie Wilson's War

I had the chance to see the movie "Charlie Wilson's War". It's a true story based on Congressman Charlie Wilson's involvement in the Soviet-Afghan War. Wilson was responsible for getting money from Congress to help Afghanistan fight the Soviets back in the 80's.
Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julia Roberts and Ned Beaty do an outstanding job in this film. "Charlie Wilson's War', is interesting and entertaining and worth seeing.
Brittney's Kid Sister

So if there is not enough news going on with Brittney Spears, her little sister has stepped in and stole some of her thunder. Instead of hearing how Brit is not taking care of her kids, we get to hear how her kid sister is pregnant. Way to go! The real kicker here is, that the mother of Brittney and Jamie Lynn is currently working on a parenting book. I now hear that it is on hold. Good idea!!!!!
Maybe she should have read on.

That's right. MTV Networks announced its plan to offer every South Park Episode on the web for free. You will be able to see them in the near future at SouthParkStudios.com.
2 months ago "The Daily Show" went on the web and it turned out that it increased viewership. We might see other networks following suit. MTV has not yet said if they are going to do this with all their shows.
Remembering Evil Knievel

I don't know about you, but being a kid growing up in the 70's, I wanted to be just like Evil Knievel. I can't tell you how many times I wrecked on my 10 speed trying to jump ramps. I killed my bike, more than I killed the jumps, but I made a few. I was fortunate enough to see a few of his stunts on The Wide World of Sports, before there was pay-perview. I remember watching his attempt to jump the pool of sharks. He didn't make it 6 feet up the ramp before he wrecked into the side of it. That was a real bummer.
His jumps over buses and the Snake River made him an international superstar. There was no one like him. He was one of the most successful entertaining daredevils of his day. It wasn't like he made every jump or stunt he tried, he wrecked a lot. I don't know if people wanted to see him wipe-out or make 'em, but he knew how to draw a crowd. He was pretty tough and daring, he broke about 40 bones in his body in his line of work. I'm people imatating him hurt themselves too. I did.
If you don't remember, he had a line of toys, which were really cool. I'm sure he thought they were too, they sold over $300 million. I know I had a few of them. I read some his comic books too.
Evil Kinevel was a big part of Americana, it was exciting to watch him. I'm sure he had a big part in how events a promoted today. Evil Kinevel is a true legend, a folk lore and one bad dude!
Celebrity Rehab

Dr. Drew from the radio and TV show "Loveline" is going to host a new show called "Celebrity Rehab" on VH1. The show is going to follow troubled stars as they try to get sober. Some of the stars will include Brigitte Nielson, Daniel Baldwin, Jeff Conway, and Jessica Sierra. Dr. Drew is hoping that the show will remove the stigma by helping people understand how painful this human condition is.
TV is sure is a lot different when I was younger. There are less sitcoms and more reality shows. I know it has a lot to do with the cost of production. The sad thing is that we watch this crap. It's like a bad car wreck, you just can't take your eyes of it.
Hopefully some of the stars on this show will get the help they need. You would think, they would want to go through this process in private, but nothing shocks me anymore.
"Almost Famous"

I went to the video store the other day and rented "Almost Famous". I saw it when it came out in 2000, but wanted to see it again. I have to say it was just as good now as it was then.
Patrick Fugit was outstanding in the movie. He plays William Miller a teenage reporter who lands an assignment from Rolling Stone Magizine. William gets to go on the road with a rock and roll band, and discovers there is more than music to write about. Kate Hudson is in the movie as well. She was also fabulous playing Penny Lane, and won a Golden Globe for her performance. Penny is a groupie who fills William in on living on the road. Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand and Philip Seymour Hoffman are also in the movie. Their characters are very well developed and make this movie fun to watch.
So if you can't find a band you want to listen to, and feel like hanging out at the homestead. Take home "Almost Famous". It's entertaining and YOU WILL LAUGH!!!!!
