DEAR FRIENDS AT CH. 7'S GREAT SITE. I WOULD LIKE SOME FEEDBACK ON HOW THE HIGH GAS PRICES HAVE AFFECTED YOU PERSONALLY AND IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY THEM ALSO. IT WONT BE LONG AND SCHOOL WILL BE BACK AND CLOTHES NEED TO BE BOUGHT. DO YOU TRY TO RUN ALL YOUR ERRANDS AT ONCE WHILE YOU ARE IN THE CITY ?GROCERIES ARE SO HIGH NOW, ARE YOU EATING OUT LESS? DO YOU TRY TO STRETCH FOOD WITH CASSEROLES ECT.DID YOU TAKE A VACATION OR ARE YOU PLANNING TO THIS SUMMER? WILL IT BE FAR OR CLOSE TO HOME? THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF THE AREAS TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THINGS YOU MAY DECIDE TO DISCUSS IN THIS FEEDBACK. I WANT TO ALSO EXTEND TO ME AND OUR OTHER READERS WAYS YOU HAVE FOUND TO STRETCH THE DOLLAR. WE ALL HAVE A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE TO SHARE SO LETS GET ENTHUSIASTIC AND DISCUSS THIS HARD TIME EVERYONE IS HAVING. ONE FINAL THING . HOW DO YOU DO YOUR A/C? RUN IT AS USUAL, OR CUT IT UP HIGHER? THE RATES ARE HIGHER IN THE SUMMER AND I PERSONALLY THINK THAT IS WHEN CONSUMERS NEED A BREAK NOT A RISE IN ELECTRICITY BILLS. I MY SELF PUT IN SOME WINDOW UNITS SO AS NOT TO HAVE THE WHOLE HOUSE COLLED ,BUT SINGLE SPACES TO SAVE MONEY. I ENCOURAGE OUR GREAT EMPLOYEES OF CHANNEL 7 TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WITH US YOU HAVE A LOT WE CAN LEARN FROM YOU !! SINCERELY CHRISTIAN RYAN USER NAME CRYSTAL CHRIS

Hi my name is Robin Brearey and I am a very loyal viewer I watch you guys every day! Anyway I wanted to tell you that we only have one car. Both of us are disabled my husband is a Vet who works for Stans heating and Air and he was being able to you a company car but they recently took it away from him. So we got A real shock of only having one car and at first we were having to beg borrow and trade for gas. I run a home business. So our big dilemma right now is trying to decide if it is worth it for me to keep the car for the day. I am disabled and working from home. My husband works all the way up North at Burnet and 183. We live at Stassney and South first. Ouch! We drive a Suburban it costs us $100 to fill up. If I keep the car I have to take my husband to work then run errands, meet with clients, then go all the way back up North and pick him up. I really have to decide it it is worth it before we plan for me to keep the car. It is very sad and my business is suffering because of it. Thank you for letting me share my story.

I HAVE TO STRETCH FOOD GLAD THERE ARE ONLY 2 OF US OR I COULDNT FEED MY KIDS NOW ADAYS THE RIGHT WAY .I COULD FEED THEM BUT IT WOULD BE STAPLES LOTS OF CASSEROLES ECT.THEY BEST THING YOU CAN DO IMMEDIATELY IS GET RID OF THAT SUBURBAN EVEN IF IT HURTS IT IS DRAGGING YOU DOWN FARTHER, I NEVER SPEND MORE THAT 40-50$ A FILL UP AND IT LAST AT LEAST 400 MILES ON A 15 GALLON TANK THATS GREAT. Robin and Chris,

I am a stay at home mother with 2 children. My husband works on the other side of Llano and we live in Burnet. I completely understand the dilema of chosing between keeping the car or letting my husband take it to work. The kids have doctors appts, there is shopping to be done, etc.He and I have talked about my getting a job, but by the time I pay a daycare to watch my children, (2yrs and 1 yr) my whole check would go to the daycare.
We are finding ourselves trying to buy in bulk, so when it comes time for leftover night, there is food. Then after leftover night, we have a casserole night. I have become quite the chef when it comes to them!! I have however lost 20lbs. not eating. There are days when it comes to: "Either I can eat something, or the kids can" Easy decision for me, I do not condone not eating, but I'll be damned if my kids go hungry.
The hardest thing is keeping my children from seeing the problems that we are having. I try to keep my crying to a minimum for fear that my 2 year old is going to walk into the room and ask me if I am alright.
We have turned our thermostat up to 85 degrees to try and save money. Also we have invested in thicker curtains to try and keep the heat out. Floor fans are also a big help, but I find myself watching it, waiting for it to turn in my direction, thinking that it may have magically skipped me. I try and maintain some sort of humor in hopes of keeping it all together. Thankfully we have this site to let some of it out. Thanks for bringing up the subject Chris.
Keep your heads up everyone! -Lizz
