AFTER READING THE COMPLETE GAS AND OIL NEWS ON THE NET THIS AM, I SEE THAT CALIFORNIA REFINERY'S HAVE NOT INCREASED THE PRODUCTION OF REGULAR GASOLINE. THIS IS IN LINE WITH THE FACT THAT PEOPLE ARE USING LESS GAS AND FOR ONCE THE NATIONAL PRICE OF GAS CAME DOWN ACCROSS THE STATES ABOUT .10 % OF A PENNY. THE REALLY EYE OPENING NEWS WAS THAT THE REFINERIES HAVE ACTUALLY INCREASED THE OUT PUT OF DEISEL FUEL. WE ALL KNOW THAT MOST OF OUR GOODS ARE MOVED BY TRUCK WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A SMALL AMOUNT BY TRAIN ,WHICH IS MOSTLY GRAIN ,CHEMICALS, CARS, AND MINERALS IN THE RAW STATE SUCH AS SULFUL. IT WAS THE OTHER WAY AROUND AND WE NEED TO GO BACK TO THE RAILROADS WHICH MADE THIS COUNTRY STRONG .THEY ARE ECONOMICAL AND THE TRACKS ARE ALREADY IN PLACE IN MOST AREAS EVEN SMALL COMMUNITIES IN THE U.S.A. I WAS JOYED A MOMENT FOR THE FALL IN A SMALL PART OF A PENNY IN GAS ,BUT SOON REALIZED IT WOULD TAKE A HUGE DROP IN GAS PRICES TO DO ANYGOOD. I DOUBT WE WILL EVER SEE THE PRICE OF GAS AT $2 A GALLON EVER AGAIN . NOT EVEN $3 GAL. FOR ALL THE GAS WE DONT USE AND THE GROUPS THAT BOYCOTT DO NO GOOD TO STOP THIS GAS TRAIN FROM RISING HIGHER AND HIGHER. I GUESS YOU  HAVE SEEN TH AIRLINES TAKING OFF MOVIES AND DVD EQUIPMENT TO SHOW MOVIES ON THE PLANE TO GET ALL UNNECESSARY THINGS ON THESE PLANES TO LIGHTEN THE LOAD HENCE LESS JET FUEL USED. WE ARE ON THE EDGE OF A RECESSION WITH THE HOUSING DEFAULTS AND HIGH GAS NOT TO MENTION OUR TAXES PAY FOR A VERY UNPOPULAR WAR. NOW THE IRAQUIS CAME OUT YESTERDAY AND WANT THE USA TO SPEED UP ITS TROOP WITHDRAWAL WHICH BUSH AND ALL ARE OPPOSED TO. ITS ALL ABOUT OIL BUT MOST PPL DO NOT EVEN HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH OIL HAS BEEN FOUND IN MONTANA AND N&S DAKOTA. NOT TO MENTION THE HUGE SWEET LIGHT GRADE CRUDE COMING FROM THE OIL SHALE UNDER THE ROCKIES AND STATES IN THE AREA. WE NOW HAVE THE LARGEST KNOWN OIL FIELD IN THE WORLD LARGER THAN ALL SAUDI HOLDINGS. THESE ARE SOME THINGS ALL OF US MUST BE AWARE OF AND BRING TO LIGHT FOR CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM BY THE PEOPLE CHRISTIAN RYAN

I was hoping some of you readers would have some input for this article i worked on feel free to comment i think the situation is serious with OBAMA SAYING "I am going after the big oil companies and find out why prices are high and i intend on cracking down on oil speculators which drives up the price."

Hey there Chris!! I think you have a great idea concerning the railroads. Even rural areas have access to the trains. Getting back to basics is something that we all need to consider.
I do worry about drilling in the states. There are so many of us that are lazy and do anything to cut corners to make life a little easier. I just worry about spills and whatnot.
Drilling would bring more jobs for people who are struggling. So would getting the trains back into rotation...the railroads need to be checked and modified if needed. Then there is the actual work on the railroads.There might be potential jobs there. However, if they do start that, they might recruit prisons to do the work. States figure that they are already paying thousands of dollars a day for just one inmate, they minus well get some work out of them. We might see a comeback of chain gangs.
I guess everything is touch and go, but you have come up with some really good ideas!!
Obama is telling people what they want to hear. We all know that the oil companies are making millions if not billions of dollars a day. And that is PROFIT!! But what do they care? I know that since the gas prices have been going up, I have been rethinking my driving routes, trying to do as many errands as I can using the least amount of fuel. Do you see Bush cutting down on his traveling? Nope. Not even a little. He hops in a plane or in his limo (which is leaded and followed by numerous vehicles, all of which need fuel) and goes where ever he wants. Doesnt that make anyone else a little curious? Bush couldnt care less about fuel price

...because he is a stock holder. Every person at the White House gate protesting is just another few bucks in his pocket. They had to get there somehow didnt they???

yOU ARE RIGHT LIZZ. GOOD IDEA ON RAILROADS AS I HAVE ADVOCATED. WE COULD AS YOU MENTIONED USE VICTIMLESS CRIMES COMMITTED BY PRISONERS LIKE DRUG POSSESION ANFD LET THEM OUT UNDER SUPERVISON AND START TO REBUILD THIS COUNTRY. I KNOW IN ONE SCHOOL DISTRINCT NEAR PALESTINE TEXAS THEY HAD A PROGRAM OF NON DANGEROUS INMATES AND THER ARE THOUSANDS, TAKING THEM OUT TO THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO FIX UP THE SCHOOLS LIKE PAINTING AND CARPENTRY REPAIRS ROOFING YOU NAME IT AND AT LUNCH TIME THE CITY PEOPLE BOUGHT THEM A HAMBURGER AND SOME FRIED CHICKEN SO THAT WAS NICE AND A GOOD WAY TO SIGHN UPMORE MEMBERS TELL ME WHAY ELSE YOU THINK CAN BE DONE THANKS FOR FEEDBACK I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR COMMENTS ON WHAT I WROTE TODAY CHRIS RYAN
