Dennis, where are you? We have the final season game to pick on. Although we have already clinched a bye and home field, I feel this is still an important division rival we need to put away. It will be a tough game, but I think we will prevail-'Boys 28-24.

I think this new database has been long overdue. Once the trial tests are done and any bugs worked out, this will be a great asset for state,county, and city traffic patrols. I'm sure once implemented, these officers will find a substantial number of uninsured drivers also have no licenses or suspended licenses. I wonder if they will also use this system to finally rid us of some illegal immigrants who drive around with no licenses or insurance. In 2002, I was involved in an accident where I hit a lady who ran a stop sign on Ben White. She spoke no English, had no license, had no insurance, and had the audacity to ask the Spanish-speaking officer if MY insurance was going to cover her damages. The thing that ticked me off the most-she was driving the same car the very next week-I'm sure still without a license or insurance. aus123 had an earlier blog (Nov. 14) about a solution the UK has implemented, which seizes and crushes cars of uninsured drivers. The article stated their problem was only 1 of every 20 cars on the road uninsured, whereas Fox7 reported our problem is 1 of every 5 are uninsured. I think this database will help us save money and lives if it will get these people off our streets.

For Dennis de la Pena:  Your pick the other day turned out to be the right one-the 'Boys persevered amid the chaos (below) in the game against the Eagles. Now if they can just get past the Giants and Redskins, i think they'll possibly make it to the playoffs. And yes Dennis, Romo has kept his head and his cool after the big contract-gotta love him for that.

For Mike Rosen:  I didn't catch the hit on the Texans' Staub the other day-sorry, but diehard 'Boys fan here-couldn't care less about the Texans unless Dallas ever meets them in the Super Bowl.

Mike Rosen's blog about that hit does bring me to my point about the game with the Cowboys and Eagles though. It's always tough enough to play in Philly, with the out of control fans they have up there. But, I have to say that there were two shots on the 'Boys that should have been called, and I'm sure when the league refs review the tapes, these players will be fined. The first was the hit on Julius Jones after he was already immobilized on the ground, and got hit helmet to helmet by a defender. That cheap shot, just as the announcers said, should have been an automatic ejection from the game. I was really surprised that it wasn't called. The second cheap shot came when Jason Whitten was hit helmet to helmet-the ref said no foul because he wasn't up in the air-? What? Helmet to helmet is just that-cause for a penalty, and besides the second defender on that play ripped his helmet off by pulling on part of the face gear to yank it off. I don't get these no-call refs on these two plays. Both of these hits were uncalled for and should be reviewed for fines levied against the defending players. I can't wait for week 15 when they meet up again, maybe the 'Boys can get some sweet revenge by sweeping the Eaglets. Keep it rolling, 'Boys.

Police officers are human beings, and can be good or bad, make mistakes, or use bad judgement just like you or me. They also have to make split second decisions regarding life, whether it is saving someone else's or their own. In the last few years, there have been several incidents that people have questioned about being the wrong call. Please think before judging, and put yourself in their position. I have watched the TV show 'Cops' enough times to know that some people are too stupid to listen to instruction. I know that a lot of these shootings have involved minorities, and in some cases may not seem fair, but if you look at the circumstances I'm sure you or I would have made the same call. The latest scene was in SE Austin with the 70yo Rosales. He was a drug dealer and had an arsenal of weapons. So what if it was 6am, or that he was hard of hearing or deaf when the officer banged on his door-they have on uniforms with POLICE on them, and he was a criminal who shot at them first. Rocha, the guy at Chester's, the guy who drug the officer after he was pulled over, the girl (retarded or not) who had the knife at her landlady's throat are all examples of people who did not stop when told to. I get so tired of hearing about 'how he/she was a good son/daughter or brother/sister or aunt/uncle. No, these were all criminals who had past histories and did not have the sense to stop, look, and listen to the officers' instructions when told to. Normal people listen to what they are told and have no problem with the law.
