I went to Waco to cover the Copperas Cove student who was suspended for answering his cell phone in class... but his dad was on the other line in Iraq. I think suspending the student was too harsh. The time he has to talk to his dad is limited and I think the school could have handled the situation differently. I also question the school for not calling back his parents to discuss the situation. Do you think the student should have been suspended for this?

You might have caught Arezow Doost's story on the grackles invading downtown Austin and leaving a mess everywhere. I really hadn't noticed the problem until I went out with a photog to shoot some more video of these birds. They were everywhere... and so loud!
We were outside for about 15 minutes when one grackle decided to drop a little present on the photog's hand. That was our cue to leave. Are you ever annoyed by these birds or do you not really care that they're here?

So, this blog will be a quick recap of my day because I am still so excited about it.
Everyone knows today was the big day -- All eyes on Texas! I was very fortunate and lucky to be able to go out with Nancy and cover the Hillary rally at Red River Cafe and cover the official UT democratic debate watch at the Texas Union. From waiting around...to seeing Chelsea Clinton...to seeing the thousands of UT students lined up outside...to getting a free T-shirt... to getting pulled over by the cops...to writing my story...and seeing all the awesome media coverage... and walking with the FOX crew to my car...I had a really amazing day.

Here's a side by side of me and of Maya Rudolph, Saturday Night Live cast member.

Becky Ozuna and photog Jacob told me I look exactly like her, but I don't see it. Yeah, this doesn't really pertain to entertainment, but it got the attention of everyone at the assignment desk.

Today I had the opportunity to meet Reynaldo Lapuz, the former American Idol contestant known as Bird Man, who auditioned in Dallas. I was able to sit down and interview him and then get serenaded by him while I sat in the living room. The story aired tonight, but you can watch it here on the FOX website if you missed it.
It was great meeting him and his family, who were so gracious to us. The only problem now is, I can't get his song out of my head. Catchy, isn't it?
I am your brother, your best friend forever... singing the song, the music that you like...

I am watching Moment of Truth on TV right now and I can't believe some the questions that are being asked! I guess that's what draws the viewers, but come on.
The contestant is answering questions while his girlfriend is watching in shock at some of his answers. So far he's revealed that he's made a pass at one of her friends and that he's stolen money from work and blamed it on someone else. Luckily, he truthfully answered that he wouldn't leave his girlfriend if his ex wife wanted to get back with him. Talk about personal. Anyway, he just now decided to walk away with $100,000.
Do you think this show is going too far with their questions or do you think this is just a cutting edge reality show that people will love?
