Christian bookstores are selling this DVD of the movie "FIREPROOF". Someone told me this movie has saved thousands of marriages. I haven't watched it yet but if that's true then spread the word to all of your married friends and family members. Have you heard of or watched this movie?

Halloween sparked major discussion from people who say they don't celebrate the holiday for religious reasons. It's a discussion I've been in several times before. I'm a Christian and I do celebrate Halloween. So do you or don't you...and why? Whether you do or don't I hope the little Bee makes you smile! God bless. Have a GREAT day.

I recently took my daughter to the circus. I can't even get my hair to do what I want! How in the world does someone train elephants to do these things?

They're such beautiful animals.

Incumbent Nick Lampson has lost his Congressional seat to Pete Olson. District 22 has long since been considered a Republican Seat. Lampson, a Democrat, was elected to the spot in November of 2006. Republican Tom Delay represented District 22 for years until he resigned amid corruption charges in 2006. After Delay resigned, Republican Shelley Sekula Gibbs was voted in to serve out his term. Lampson has been in Congress about a decade. He says he isn't sure what the future holds for him now, possibly teaching again. As for Olson, he is a former Navy Pilot and served as Senator John Cornyn's chief of staff for 5 years. Olson says as a member of the National Rifle Association he will fight to protect Texans right to bear right arms.
This spot is one of the crucial seats in the House for the Republican Party. Nick Lampson served the 9th District from 1997-2005 until controversial congressional re-districting. Some accused the Republican Party of re-drawing the lines in an effort to gain more districts.
What are your thoughts? Who got your vote Olson or Lampson?

I recently wrote a blog about comedian Gallagher visiting Fox 26. Well LOOK!

I left out this fabulous photo of Gallagher with Meteorologist Kristi Powers and Traffic Diva Erin Anthony. How could I have done this? I'm SO sorry ladies. Charge it to my head & not my heart. You gals are always in my heart!!! Great picture by the way!

Comedian Gallagher stopped by Fox 26. Right there at the news desk DURING the news he took off his shirt and revealed a "Mens Underwear Blouse"! (Men's boxers turned upside down, with holes cut in the sides for sleeves.) It was hilarious (SHOCKING but funny). The good thing is, he IS a comedian & he did it for laughter. Do you ever see someone wearing something & you want to scream Do You Really Have To Do That ????? He was kind enough to take pictures with us during the commercial break (Above: Tom Zizka, Gallagher & Me. Below he's pictured with Satellite Coordinator Jose Seminario, Photographer Todd Smith (who's also a Deacon-isn't that cool), Editor David Canada & the lovely Marissa Galvan). P.S. Yes, I gave him bunny ears!

Do you ever just HAVE TO HAVE "the" perfect color? (Maybe this is a question for the ladies!) I wanted yellow on my toesies. So I pulled out all the yellow polish in my house that I could find but none of them would do. What's a girl to do? Eventually I settled on 3 yellows. I started with "Good Morning Sunshine", layered it with "Frigidaire" and topped that off with "Just Beachy". (Don't you LOVE the nail polish names?) Yes! That's exactly the color I was hoping for. It matched my little Butterfly Toe Ring & my new flip flops JUST PERFECT!

Myself, meteorologist Kristy Powers & producer Denise Albert were sent to Dallas where we were on stand-by during hurricane Ike. (So we could put on a newscast from there if FOX 26 was knocked off the air by Ike.) We flew to Dallas in an old Huey helicopter that was used in the Vietnam War.

IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I STAYED OVERNIGHT AWAY FROM MY DAUGHTER...YIKES!
That was really difficult. I was physically sick leaving her, LITERALLY! Sorry Kristy & Denise & the pilot Darryl & his co-pilot (am I forgetting anyone?) !!!
I took pictures as we were flying.

I LEARNED 2 THINGS. CHOPPER GAS IS CRAZY EXPENSIVE. Nearly $1,000 to fill up.
I also learned that massive houses from the air
still look pretty darned MASSIVE! Look at that thing!

On the way back we had to stop in Huntsville to get clearance from the FAA to fly back into Houston. There were 2 Black Hawk helicopters landing in front of us.

It was Governor Rick Perry & Lt. Governor David Dewhurst.

When we finally landed back in Houston I had a LONG talk with God (OK HUGE crying fest) because Ike only took me away from my daughter for 2 days. Some people were not as fortunate. My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone in the Hurricane. God bless you. The best part of the trip was, of course, coming back home to my princess.
THANK YOU GOD.
(P.S. don't talk bad about my pink, plaid, picnic dress. It's so comfy. I love that thing!!!)

Please don't make me stand next to a supermodel! TOO LATE!!! I interviewed Tyra Banks on Fox 26 Morning News. She was in town after making Niara Jeffery's dream come true. The 13 year old emailed Tyra a show idea and guess what? Tyra not only made the show happen, Niara Jeffery also flew from Houston to NY & appeared on the Tyra Banks Show. Niara's idea was to have "Opposite Day" and to have Tyra do everything opposite of what she would normally do. Tyra wore her clothes backwards, featured a woman proposing to her boyfriend and made over "RUGGED" construction worker type men in FEMININE ATTIRE! Tyra was just as beautiful (inside and out) as she is on TV. She was VERY nice and full of gorgeous smiles!

How have you "mentally" escaped the devestation of Ike (even if for a few minutes at a time)? I found myself WAY too stressed & sad bcuz of so many people left hurting by Ike. So, I just had to escape. For 3 hours we went to the Cheesecake Factory and had (more cake & candles) yet another birthday celebration for my daughter. Her birthday was earlier this month but we've celebrated at least a dozen times so far! When Ike gets to be too much, how do you "mentally" get away? God bless.

I'm REALLY sad to hear Ike has claimed one life. A Dad was cutting down a tree (Friday around 9am) so it wouldn't fall on the house during the storm & part of that tree fell on his 10 year old son. God bless that family. God bless our children, our loved ones, our homes & all of our communities. Please be safe you guys.

My cousin's sweet & precious daughter (they live in Michigan) told him she wanted to pray for us in Houston. She told him she wants God to keep me, my daughter and Texas safe. Certainly God doesn't ignore a 5 year old's prayers! (May Ike come & go & spare us any hurt, harm or damage.)

We have to remember GOD is more powerful than hurricane Ike or any other storm. We truly have to lean on God right now and always. God please bless Houston, Galveston and our entire area. Be safe you guys. God bless.

I am turning into my mother. (She's a wonderful woman. So that isn't a bad thing!) I now love arts & crafts and decorating things. This frame was in a clearance bin for like 60 cents. I hot glued the cute little bugs onto the frame, slapped this super-cute shoe magnet (a gift from an awesome viewer) in the corner and put a picture of me & my daughter in it. Now this is one of my favorites.
Do you have any hobbies that you're really into now (things you thought you would never like to do)?
