Another beautiful day in America and another day which sees billions of (devalued) dollars heading overseas. Much of that money goes for foreign oil, of course, and yet many billions go to countries which truly either do not need or should not receive our help: countries such as Jordan, Egypt, Israel, North Vietnam, etc. Of course, there are those who say we have to give these countries money because . . . well, because . . . well, just because.

Other aid, billions of dollars worth, goes to Africa for development and to help fight AIDS. Speaking of AIDS, throwing money at this problem will not solve it, education is the key. And yet, we are told it costs billions for this education. Right. And we believe it, as we believe the billions spend on education in this country does good. Granted, education needs money, yet how many billions does it cost to produce yet another crop of illiterates? An average high school graduate might not know the three branches of government, but they sure do know who won American Idol. Money well spent, that is.

But I digress. All of this money, this money which we do not have and cannot afford, goes away to far-off lands in order to make life better, or at least more bearable, over there. That is what we are told is the Big Picture.

For once I would like us to look at the small picture, which is our country and our infrastructure and our farmers and our cities and our underdeveloped which need 'aid'. It is our country after all, we should be first in line. Imagine a soup kitchen with America setting the table and providing the sustenance. Those in line will bleed us dry, and when America dies of starvation those other countries will just go to another soup kitchen. The New World Order isn't government eavesdropping or secret societies or internment camps (sorry Alex Jones, your fifteen minutes was up a long time ago), it's the starvation of America and the lowering of expectations. This entire world will eventually become the Third World,  and when everyone is at the same base, primal level, no one will remember America as the greatest country in the world. They will only remember America was the first to immolate herself for the rest of the world. That is where this big picture is taking us.

But apparently I don't seem to have a handle on the way this world truly works. I do not seem to be able to grasp this Big Picture since I am told, we are told, all of this is to make our life better. All of this is to make the world more 'peaceful' and more 'stable'. Our schools are a laughingstock, our cities are falling apart, and yet we should feel good for sending alll of this money away to people who are, it seems, for the most part ungrateful. All in the name of their stability and their peace.

Strange, the way some things work.

You might think of this in terms of "the enablement of poverty." We've been doing this for 50 years and it hasn't made a dent. When do we realize it doesn't work?
