We all knew DJ Augustin was NBA-bound... but his teammate AJ Abrams?  I certainly didn't see that one coming.

Don't get me wrong: Abrams has NBA 3-point range... and is an intelligent, likeable kid.  But as a sub-six footer, his only ticket to the NBA is at point guard... and he simply hasn't been able to show that skill-set at the college level.  Until NBA scouts can watch him at the 1...  it will be hard for them to give AJ much of a draft rating.

Anyone see this one differently?

I'm with you on proving he can handle the point. What he has shown is that he can shoot. The spot he's looking for is a bench role type player, sort of like a Craig Hodges or Tim Legler. I really think he put his name out their to see what scouts think of him and to see if Barnes is willing to let him come back and run the point next year.

Great for D.J. He deserves to move on, just wish he could have won a championship before he left.

Us media types will miss DJ too.

As much as I enjoyed his hoop skills, I appreciated his humble spirit even more. I hope he has a long, productive NBA career (I like to see good things happen to good people).

Be sure to listen for "de la Pick'ems" on 101X FM (every Friday morning with hip DJs Jason and Deb). I'll also try to post my football picks here Friday afternoons... along with some random sports takes.
