5 years ago Fox 7 was at Austin Bergstrom when a then 14-year old Linnea Weeks was brought over from Russia with her younger brother and sister.  Friday, she graduated from Johnson City High School, 17th in her class.  When she came to this country from Russia, she couldn't read, write or speak english.  Now she's set to study for her associate's degree in radiology this fall at Austin Community College.  This kind of  determination is really inspiring.  So many times we hear about kids not doing it right and this is truly a case of one who definitely has gotten it right.

That is so touching. American born children take a lot for granted, we all do. Maybe this can be a lesson to those.

Very true Debby. Let's hope more kids catch whatever bug Linnea has. She worked so hard just to learn the language and to see a youngster flourishing so is alawys encouraging.
