I have been doing my research on the “bail out” issue and the current political scene.
I have come to the conclusion that the more I hear from the lips of the various CEOs of magopoloplis (sic) corporations the more I find myself wanting to run to the bathroom and regurgiate.
Now so you don’t think that I’m listening to just one side of the story, I’ll include the Union Chieftans in the same boat.
My conclusion in this matter is that the middle class is getting the shaft, and somewhere there is a very real effort to socialize this country.
In other words we are being set up for a, have/have not, pure socialistic (democracy?) with two classes, the small, very rich and the, very large, very poor, slaves with skin color having absolutely nothing to do with the equation.
A recent poll shows that the hand gun sales have jumped and this worries me no end. The sales of long guns have dropped and this gives me additional worries.
I go back a few years when JFK was elected president, and I had made no secret that I was an Independent voter and was asked by a business friend following the election about my personal feelings, my reply was that even though I didn’t vote for Kennedy, I would respect the office.
I repeat that same sentiment for President elect Obama and my honest prayer is that he provide the necessary leadership to turn our economy around and more so that some stupid radical not make an attempt on his life.
I hope that all Americans will join me in my prayer and pull the oars on both sides of the boat.
All Blow and No Go?

O.K., November the 4th has come and gone, now we will see if the new boy can cut it, or is “all blow and no go”.

And the winner is:
I’m writing this on Monday the day before Black Tuesday.
I have dusted off my voter registration and am preparing without much enthusiasm to cast my vote tomorrow for some of those folks who are running for various offices.
I say “without much enthusiasm” as one of the senior Americans who has not missed a chance to vote except when I was overseas with my military group in WW ll.
I was born and raised a southern Democrat until I got fed up with FDR’s socialistic policies and I started voting a split ticket which I still do.
Don’t tell me that my vote doesn’t count as I know in my heart that as an American this is the one way I can help make a difference in our way of life.
Am I fed up? Yes, and right now I do not see much light at the end of the tunnel, but I feel that the young folks who are all fired up with the Democratic runner, will win this election and just maybe I’ll still be around to join them, four years hence, when they find that there is little or no difference in the two party’s political stance.
I hope that you have, or will, join me in casting your ballot for whomever your head and heart deems appropriate.
God, save the United States of America.
Platitudes and Chiche's

Platitudes and cliche’s, incorporated into something similar to a high school football cheering practice. This is my personal opinion of what the political rat race has turned into.
There is no identification of the problems facing our nation, and they are monumental, much less down to earth, hard, factual solutions of them.
All I hear and read is tax and spend and gut the middle class economic structure.
This election has turned into a circus, and I for one, am fed up with both the major parties treating me and my fellow American citizens like blithering idiots.
Well folks, we are not stupid, and I hope to live long enough with help my neighbors and friends to make the necessary sweeping changes in the wasteful way that our resources are being handled and I will remind the candidates that the price of gasoline has gone down, not from their intelligent efforts, but from the American public reducing the usage of fossil fuel which got big oil’s attention and miracle of miracles, the prices suddenly dropped.
Yes the American citizens can speak with one voice if they make up their mind to, and the politicians had best listen them and get their act together.
November the 4th is not just a day of reaconing, but a political wake up call. I suggest these aspirants heed it.
There are several million voters who are not fooled by this retoric and demand, “real changes”, not just some motor mouthed politican’s campaign slogan word.
Happy/Sad

Today, Sunday Oct. 19th, 2008 is the harbinger of happiness and sadness for me, having to do with the upcoming presidential election.
I am sad that my personal former choice for president, General Colin Powell, has come out for the Democratic nominee, and has made the race card the predominate issue in the election. I am a white, protestant, disabled veteran,Texan, I would have supported General Powell regardless of what party he represented, but as an Independent moderate voter, I cannot in good faith support the Democrat due primarily due to his lack of experience, not his color.
I am also disappointed that I now have to make a difficult choice in my vote. I respect Senator McCain’s senatorial voting record but I question the endorsement by big business.
The third party nominees offer an even less palatable selection which leaves me with the decision of either voting for the less of two evils, or not voting and this I cannot in good conscience do.
To close on a happy note, our country has weathered tough times before and I am confident that it will again, so I beg you voters to vote your choice and start to participate in governmental affairs, by a simple method, communicate with your congressman, your senators and our president preferably, by mail, and let them know your feelings on all matters that require their decisions.
This will work!
May God bless you and the United States of America.
My E-mail polls, etc.

My e-mail polls on the November election runs something like this. The majority of them are negative, equally divided between the two major participants, with a smattering of Bush bashing and since he is not a contender I disregard those in this survey.
The numbers from the “debates” were all inclusive with the mainstream print media leaning, as expected, to favor the Democrats, followed by Fox news beating out CNN for quality in broadcasting.
The accuracy of the majority of the information contained in the e-mails is open to question, so I disregarded all of them on this point.
The verbosity of the various candidates showed a high degree as regards the question of whats going on in the real political arena, and the “moderators” were as self-serving as could be expected.
My conclusion is that November the 4th will come and go without any earth shaking “changes” regardless of the outcome, so I will just tighten my seat belt on my easy chair and hope that despite all the efforts and millions of dollars wasted in this mighty effort the United States will survive and the world as we know it will continue to rotate pretty close to once every 24 hours.
God does bless the United States, and the rest of the world as well.

s it me losing my mind, or does the liberal Democrat sound like what the public, wants/expects, and the Republican sounds like he is, big business/oil orientated, and both hell bent on destroying the middle class through political chicanery?
Read, “Putting the voters in chains”.
I am seriously thinking of voting “NO” in November.
I would like to see a third party made up of veterans and their families, then we just might have a “Choice”, if theres anything left to chose.

Lets talk a bit about “attitude”. I am a reasonably well informed and educated individual and I despite my personal practice of not watching political debates, I tuned in to the Tuesday “debate”.
I am normally a pretty laid back individual, but I lost it when the Democratic contender took his hand mike and leaving the podium, began a diatribe, waving his hands and prancing all over the podium instead of responding to the question he had been asked.
I am an Independent moderate, but this dolt putting his hand in my face, and talking down to me as though I was a three year old spoiled child, left me with but one out, and I’m mad as a wet hen.
Senator McCain, you are a mature experienced politician and an American veteran, you just got my vote and whatever influence I can muster.
Senator Obama, you have offended me and I will work to see that whatever I can legally do to prevent your election you may rest assured, I will!

There is a 450 page document representing a trillion dollars of American taxpayers future fiscal obligation that was sent to each member of the U.S. Senate TODAY!
This is being force fed by the United States Chamber of commerce which is backed by a $40,000,000.00 war chest in an effort to put fear into the senators if they don’t pass this legislation.
I am perhaps a voice in the wilderness crying out for some kind of logical approach to cure the financial distress now being perpetrated by groups who's primary interest is one of personal greed and the middle class Americans being saddled with this boondoggle.
We will be heard!
Taxes and "income redistribution"...When and where does it stop...This is socialism at its best...
READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY
Soooo difficult to understand some of our idiot legislators........
Windfall Tax on Retirement Income
Adding
a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the
American people, you're so stupid that we're going to keep doing this
until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the
House is saying. Read below...............
Democrat Nancy Pelosi wants
a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have
made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You
aren't going to believe this.
Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi
;wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including
Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true - all to help
the 12 Million Illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities!
This woman is frightening.
She
quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income,
(didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same
time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' ( I am not rich, are
you)
When asked how these new tax dollars
would be spent, she replied:
'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in
our countr y who need our help along with millions of unemployed
minorities. Stock market windfall profit taxes could go a long way to
guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have
as 'Americans'.' (Read that quote
again and again and let it sink in. Lower your retirement, give it to
others who have not worked as you have for it.

Dateline Wednesday, September 24, 2008-Washington.
QUOTE:
Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says today’s leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt’s response to a financial crisis.
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, “Look, here's what happened,” he recently told the “CBS Evening News.”
Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929. There also was no TV at that time.
UNQUOTE
My comments, first off, this was buried in most major print media including the Statesman, and next I am given cause to wonder if Senator Biden flunked History 101, or is suffering first stage of old age. Finally, I don’t want this kind of mentality to be a heart beat away from being president.
I’m still an Independent Moderate but this article was too good to miss.
Washington's Shortfall

It is now, in my opinion, time for me to bring order out of chaos, financially speaking.
Lets take a look at the basic problems, the housing financial market has gone bust, the stock market is crashing, and fuel costs are looking at a sure fire increase. If these are not enough we need to address the cost of food, and last but far from least the outsoursing of our labor market is in the hands of greedy stockholders, heck bent on bringing our country’s economy to a shuddering halt.
The whole thing hinges on a word in the last sentence, “GREED”.
There is another, that is one of the most overlooked and it has to do with our politicians apparent lack of a fundamental understanding of Economics 101.
I have written in days and years past, using the analogy of the Texas ranchers housewife who takes what her husband brings in, feeds and clothes the family, pays the mortgage, tithes to their church and still has a few dollars left to spend on birthdays, Christmas and school supplies, and would you believe actually is able to salt away a few bucks for a rainy day. Wow!
I have included in this writing that if a gal with a minimal education can bring about these miracles, why in the flying cat hair can’t our Washington politicians do the same with our tax dollars?
I agree with both parties candidates that “CHANGE” is in order, and if they can’t figure out how to make our national budget work with all the Phd’s available, then for goodness sake lets hire some of the simple commoners that meet these daily needs to set some spending rules that make sense. They will work a darn site cheaper than these Washington wannabes.
God bless these United States and please give us some sensible leadership.
I will absolutely NOT! argue politics or religion with anyone at any time. My simplistic reasoning is that the other guy has a closed mind and cannot recognize that anything they might say will fall on deaf ears. Additionally, I also have too much respect for someone's opinion that may differ from mine.
My wife and I do occasionally discuss politics and religion and we each have mutual respect enough not to let personalities intervene, so we have been happily married for over 20 years and are each others best friend.
I have never had the temerity or stupidity to tell her how to vote and she reciprocates in kind.
I have kind of unusual approach to selecting whom I will vote for in national elections generally. I read and listen to each parties sales pitch and often will vote for the one who, in my opinion has told the least lies.
In this upcoming election I have an additional bombardment of STUFF coming into my internet connection, and it is not hard to separate the wheat from the chaff in these offerings.
This simple preachers prayer is that the folks who promulgate these offerings would respect the fact that I have the ability to reason and make decisions without having my intelligence insulted by their blatherings.
I subscribe to one home delivered newspaper, but enjoy having several others available at my fingertips on my keyboard and computer screen. I get a wide view of the offerings of the world wide mainstream media.
I sincerely recommend this technique to all potential voters, you just might get a straight look in at the real political world.

One down one to go!
The Democrat has announced his V.P. selection and the Republican will make his choice shortly. In the mean time the TV talking heads and the print media will bore we common folk to death with their mostly inane commentary. The cable folks are down to reruns of antique movies so thank goodness for my internet connection.
I keep my sense of humor and my sanity by visiting my foreign news sources via the internet most of whom address the United States method of selecting a political leader with a large slice of tongue in cheek.
My observation is that most U.S. citizens have made up their minds how they are going to cast their ballots and nothing short of WW lll will change them, if that.
The position of Vice President has always been that of a figure head with a few notable exceptions of the demise of the head honcho, and this election will likely be no exception.
I personally don’t care how many houses McCain has, nor what Obama’s lineage is, and I don’t believe that these factors should enter into the political equation.
By far the most pressing problem we have is our national economy and the abhorrent, drunken sailor on shore leave, fiscal mentality of our legislature, and we are not allowed to cast a vote on this.
Yes, I know we elect these folks and they are supposed to represent us, but dog gone it, they are by and large seemingly only interested in feathering their own political nest and to heck we we commoners.
Having written the above, I still don’t feel better, but perhaps I will have awakened some one who puts a sense of responsibility into making a run for an office, but, there I go, dreamin’ again.
Jack Wheeler on Obama

Subject: Fwd: Jack Wheeler
Jack Wheeler is a brilliant man who was the author of
Regan's strategy to break the back of the Soviet Union with
the star wars race and expose their inner weakness. For years
he wrote a weekly intelligence update that was extremely
interesting and well structured and informed. He
consults(ed) with several mega corporations on global trends
and the future, etc. I think he is in semi-retirement now. He is
a true patriot with a no-nonsense approach to everything. He
is also a somewhat well known mountain climber and adventurer.
Subject: Dr. Jack Wheeler Regarding Obama
Written by Dr. Jack Wheeler
The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored
empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original
ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of
how the world works, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid
of real substance.
He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him
is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African, Arabic
surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim
his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya . Only a small part of him is
African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he "is"
exclusively.
What he isn't -- not a genetic drop of -- is 'African-American,' the
descendant
of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn't a
single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave
owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for
centuries until the British ended it.
Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the
descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.
It's something even Hillary doesn't understand -- how some complete neophyte
came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is
beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents
reject
Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the
evil of being human to the evil of being white.
Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering absolution from
the
Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or
flaws of his
can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be
effective
against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their
Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia
absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.
Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and
are
in no desperate need of a phony savior.
His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any free
thinking American.
The e-mail closed with the following, *Pass this on to every free thinking American you know!*
