A while back I posted a few blogs looking for my cat...Then I posted about a coyote issue in the area because after hiring a pet detective (with a good reputation) I was told my kitty met with coyotes, there was a 90% chance that she was killed.
WELL, over 4 months later I get a call from a person who lives fairly close by, she say there was this cat in her parents backyard, her mom had been feeding her for a couple months or so...reluctantly I went to check it out, only because the description was so fitting. My cat isn't average looking, she has some pretty unique features (see her picts. in my photos). At first I didn't think it was her because her fur was much lighter, and I was unsure of some of the markings, but then after comparing all my pictures to her I realized it was!!! I took her the vet to get 100% confirmation because my kitty had 2 teeth pulled and one missing..the vet confirmed the missing teeth. I was so afraid that by some freak of nature I had found her twin! Her fur which was more of a gray brown is now a lighter brown due to all the sun bathing she has been doing for the last 4+ months!
I'm shocked! Amazed! REALLY HAPPY! and still Shocked!! It's all just so unbelievable!
She is home, she is healthy and has only lost 1/2 lb. since she went missing!!!
She is strictly an indoor cat, (10 yrs old) this is what worried me the most about her getting out.
i think I already mentioned how very happy I am??!!!
I got her back 1 day before leaving for a 5 week vacation!!!! What perfect timing (except that I miss her like crazy!)
YAY! :)

The coyote population in Austin/Round Rock is out of control. There are coyote dens in full view right next to major roads in populated neighborhoods!
I had a Pet PI (Karin Goin) in town this weekend, she brought her 3 wonderful dogs to help find my missing kitty. These dogs are very scent specific, each one of them led us to a coyote den :( less than a half mile from my house, which backs up to several neighborhoods.
Our pets and children are in danger when the coyotes are forced out of the woods by all the contruction that is going on, when their food source is destroyed they pray on our pets!
There is a 90% chance that my kitty met a horrible fate just because she escaped from the safety of our house...we would have her home today if it wasn't for those nasty scavengers! As the optomist that I am, I hang on to the 10% chance that she is okay, but I know it's would be like winning the lottery to see my kitty come home.
If you live in the Avery Ranch area, keep you pets INDOORS ONLY! The Coyotes are there, right behind your homes!
Also, South Austin has the highest Coyote population in the Country!

My kitty has been missing for a month now. She is an indoor cat and we've had her for 7 years. We miss her very much.
Angel is a siamese tabby mix, light brownish gray with dark stripes, white on her paws, belly, face and chest, she has a grayish spot on her nose and BLUE EYES. She had a black safety collar which could have come off. See my photos for pictures of her.
She is either still living outside probably starving or someone has found her and is keeping her. I figured I'd post on here again hoping maybe someone has seen her.
If you know where she is or see her please contact me at angel@sheepins.com
Reward for her return, no questions asked, I just want my kitty back with her family where she belongs.
I think even the dog misses her!
I live in Brushy Creek, on the Round Rock/ Austin line.
Thank you.

I lost my kitty about 5 days ago, she is tabby siamese, light brown with some gray stripes but a darker tail, she has big beautiful blue eyes, she has white on her feet and belly. She was wearing a safety collar that is black with white stars and a red rabies tag hanging from it, this may have broken off though. Her name is Angel.
Please if you see her call Great Oaks Animal Hospital and let them know so they can contact me, also reply if you have any info. on her.
I have tried everything to find her and we are very worried about her, we've had her for 7yrs. and we miss her very much!
Also, if anyone knows where I can rent or borrow a cat trap like they use to catch the feral cats, please let me know.
Thank you!

I feel terrible for his family, and can't even imagine what this boy went through. I think it is a horrible tragedy and I really hope they get to the bottom of what happened.
I was just wondering how people feel about a bunch of strangers showing up at a funeral? Jam packing the church etc.?
It just seems to me that this should be a private time for family and friends to say goodbye to a loved one. i don't think that people who don't know the family or the child have any place showing up. I do understand people wanting to show support, I really do.
I also think there are people who feed off of this stuff like ambulance chasers, i know that's harsh but it is the truth.
I think sending a card or flowers to the funeral would be better than showing up.
What do you think?

Did anyone listen to the 911 call from the 10yr. old girl who was calling about her little brother being kidnapped yesterday?
The 911 operator was jerk, he yelled at her, there were long pauses on the phone, the girl says "sir" "sir" over and over before he says "what" with an attitude...who trained this guy? He did nothing to calm her other than to yell at her to stop crying and that he didn't understand her, his tone was mean and almost as if he didn't believe what she was saying.
I would think these guys are trained to deal with hysterical callers, I mean after all if you have to call 911 then something is seriously wrong and people are going to be upset.

first off, I'd like to know just how long this boy was missing from the assembly, who ever the teacher is that let him leave to go to the bathroom should have noticed that this boy never returned to the assembly. Schools really need to keep a better eye on these kids, I don't care how many children there are! I was once told that my child was a 'wanderer" because they lost track of him on the playgound at age 4! He could have walked off into the street or gone with a stranger! And they try to blame him at age 4 for not staying with the class??
I hope this little boy who is in the hospital recovers, it's very sad.
The news was reporting it and the news guy used the word "Homicide"?? The boy is still alive, why would he say that? Dumba#@^.
Also, they are saying that it is possible that he hung himself up on the coat hook which I assume is on the back of the door and that his pants fell down? How would a 7 year old boy get himself up there? I hope they continue investigate this one!
It would make sense to use the buddy system when the children are moving around the school, to and from the bathroom, office, library etc. I think they give these young children too much responsiblity in school. They are too young to be wandering around by themselves, I know they can find there way around the school but you never know who is going to be lurking just waiting for that child who is alone. On the playground, they need to be watched, not just expected to follow the rules.
Also, the schools arould here need to be safer, during the day the doors should be locked, ALL doors, people should have to be buzzed in during school hours, this way the office knows that someone is entering and to expect them to come into the office.
The whole thing is just aweful, I really hope that this little boy is okay and that the school wakes up and pays more attention to our little ones. We send them off to school every day with the belief that they are being taken care of.

God Bless our Military who are protecting our Country for our freedom. Thanks to them, and their sacrifices we can celebrate the 4th of July.
We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.
I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom &God Bless Our Troops

A new law signed by Governor Perry will require daycare centers to conduct background checks on all employees. FOX 7's Mike Rosen reports that some daycare center claim the new law will create a costly burden.
Sooo...they don't already do this?? A costly burden?? Gee, I thought our kids were more important than money...guess not.
This explains the number of "bad" daycares out there! Like the woman who taped the boys mouth shut because he wouldn't stop crying, I think he was 2 or 3 years old, she bound and gagged him with tape and left the room, she didn't seem to understand why he died. Just one of many daycare horror stories.
I'll pass on Daycare, thanks anyway. I'd rather raise my own kids. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't have this luxury and has to count on stranger to take care of their kids 8 or more hours a day.
My son’s elementary school runs everyone’s ID to check it against the registered sex offenders list; no one is allowed in the school without having their ID scanned. But the daycare thinks it's too costly to protect our children?
Hey Mike Rosen, how about giving out the list of these daycares to the public, then they'll learn what losing money is really like.

This is terrible. Why did this guy go into the other lane? I wonder if the story will ever be followed up.
I think it's a terrible tragedy that 3 young children died, which begs the question, WHY would a mother put herself and 3 young children in a car with no seatbelts or car seats??? What is wrong with people these days?
