is our mayor W.W. a canidate for the coocoo nest? what is he thinking with this new proposal that will require homeowners to update their homes before being able to sell them. sounds to me like a permiting and inspection money grab.enough that  he got the new construction projects to have to be E compliant as well as any additions to existing homes... it is difficult enough to try and do business in austin....let alone affordable to still live in austin!  when is he up for re-election?  evidently not so enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

a freind of mine just told me of a couple of incidents in which the U.S army is dening soldiers hurt in roadside bombings medical assistance claiming their injuries did NOT occur in battlle. and also the U.S. army is asking soldiers who've been wounded and unable to fulfill their committments to return a portion of their bonus that they recieved when they signed up. i find this MOST DISTURBING and OUT RIGHT UNACCEPTABLE.

call your congressperson, raise some hell!

has anyone else heard about this injustice?

i herad that the five democratic senators running for president abstained from voting on the pelosi budget draft and on the confirmation of our soon to be attorney general...if true what a good example to set for the "everyman" to get out and vote for their election. plus, what a great way to HIDE from letting us common folk know where they stand and for what they stand....what a bunch of cowardly LOSER'S!!!!!!!!!!

wow...tx dot builds a new road and congestion on the old roads lessens...gee willacurrs who'd thunk! the survey you all have been reporting makes this phenomenon sound as though it's because this NEW road is a toll road...not the fact that simply...IT"S A NEW ROAD!!!! further more i guess the powers that BE just happen to get this info today, mmmm sounds fishy...the same day of the campo vote on more toll roads. ok fellow austinites get ready to pay just to go to granny's house or anywhere for that matter!!

the political arena is currently a mess... the presidential race is a crowded field of wannabe's who i think are just looking for airtime to help get them reelected in whatever office they currently hold. hilliary  and obama are the only real dem candidates and as for the rep's don't count mccain out just yet....gov. perry as a VP candidate i think would actually be a good choice, he was effective as LT. gov. and is a very good PR man. as for hilliary, although she had rooters in arkansas i think she distanced her self a little to far by doing the new york thing for texans to feel comfortable with her.

how can this supposed institution of higher learning, who do not allow our own armred forces recuiters or a spokes person for the border minute men to speak on their campus, allow the the president of iran, who has openly stated death to all americans and all of isreal, to address their student body. this action in another day and time would probably have been considered treason. the state of new york should pull all government funding from this institution....i do mean INSTITUTION!
