I just watched your news story on the large sign "click it or ticket:" hanging up downtown.  While I have always worn my seatbelt, I disagree with the government telling me I have to because it saves lives.  Your story quoted the number of people killed not wearing seatbelts,  What about the people who die wearing seatbelts.  In the past 2 weeks, I have seen stories of traffic accidents where at least 3 people were killed even though they were wearing seatbelts.  Would they have lived if they weren't?????  My best friend was killed in a one vehicle accident.  He was wearing a seatbelt when his car hit a tree.  His drivers door flew open.  Had he been thrown from the vehicle, there is a very real possibility that he would be alive today.  I think if God has determined it is your time to die, you will die even wearing seatbelts, crash helmet and a fire suit.

Also will some one explain to me why I have to wear my seatbelt driving my pickup truck, but I can have passengers in the open bed of the truck?????  Who stands a better chance of getting killed,  me or the guys in the back???????

Also can you explain to me why I have seen police officers not wearing seatbelts..I have not seen it very often, but it does occur.  Are they super human????  It will cost more of your tax dollars if he is killed in the line of duty, than it will if I am killed driving down the road

I think our government needs to worry about more important "crimes"
