Even the dog gets some Popsicle on a hot Summer day.
Dear Mother Nature,
Thank you for the exciting thunderstorm this morning that brought my
thirsty lawn some much needed rain. Also, thank you for the lightning
display on the morning that I remembered to bring my camera with me for
the drive to my son’s school.
I do have one little request, though. Next time could you wait until
after 7:00 AM to start the show? This 5:30 AM stuff is a little too
early for me. I really need my beauty sleep and it’s hard to get it
when the children are using our bed as a trampoline.

I rushed out the back door tonight to fire up the grill so I could cook our salmon before this monstrous storm beat me down with hail and high winds. The lightning and thunder was really close so I threw on the pink fishes, flipped them in four minutes, then snatched them off early to finish them off in the oven. I don't like to be pelted by hail. Apparently I didn't need to worry as we didn't even see a drop of rain at our house. The thunderheads sure were pretty, though. And the salmon was delicious!

I took the kids to the school by our house where I shot last night's
sunset. I tried to get my son to shoot some photos with me but he
wanted to play on the playground instead. There were actually a few low
clouds for tonights sunset and I got some really nice shots, but this
one of my daughter was my favorite.
It was getting late and I didn't have my photo yet so I drove off into the sunset.
