On Sunday, The New York Times published an explosive report exposing the Pentagon’s secret campaign to use analysts in order to “generate favorable news coverage of the administration’s wartime performance.” Since that time, TV news organizations have largely been silent on their role in the propaganda. Ari Melber notes that last night, PBS’s Newshour finally broke this blackout, but couldn’t convince the other networks to participate:

"Why not report on this?" Because it's been happening since the Revolutionary War, that's why. Of course the government is going to use 'analysts' to put a spin on their actions. Are you truly surprised?

Delusion is right, this has been happening for some time. What I think is important to keep in mind here is this: This sheds light on the border between radical conspiracy theorists (which are usually written off as crazy) and those who are realistic and objective in their thinking.

This DOES exist, and more light needs to be shed on these cockroaches scurrying around in the dark. In my opinion, shedding more light on them just clearly defines what IS conspiracy theory and what is actually happening under our noses.
