John Hygh is a Mavs Fan????

It has just come to my attention that KTBC FOX 7 Sports reporter John Hygh is a Dallas Mavericks basketball fan.  Really?  How can anyone be a Mavericks fan?  I remember back in 2000 I was guilty of thinking hey this team might be good.  Then they got knocked out of the playoffs year after year after year.  I understand the concept of fair weather fan but after a while you gotta realize that sometimes the grass is greener in San Antonio.  GO SPURS!!!  I have several friends that are Maverick fans.  Every year around this time I have to be careful not to bring up b-ball for fear that I might hurt their precious feelings.  Here is an blog excerpt from a good friend of mine..."Early prediction for next season? They fire Avery, Bring in somebody
else, keep the same basic team, by the all star break when they are
25-30, fire sale, for cap space and draft picks. I think Dirk will be
the only one standing when its all said and done."  This of course was written before they fired Avery but I imagine that if that the rest of his prediction proves true the Mavs will be right where they are this year.  GET RID OF DIRK... He is getting old and the Mavs gotta do something big to be a contender.  Think Boston.  That is all.   Better luck next year.  Man I hope the Spurs win tonight.

I am a recovering Mavs fan that used to follow the team. Like many, i was snowed over into thinking Mark Cuban was a good owner. Then he went out and destroyed the team. I will not follow them until Cuban sells them to somebody with at least half a brain.

I just can't figure out how a team can get so close but yet never close the deal.

Grant Grant Grant. I hope your not the typical "get on my nerves" Spurs fan. I've been a Dallas Mavericks fan since 1987. I've seen it all. I still can't believe we lost to the Heat in the NBA Finals. Then followed that up by making history and losing to an 8-seed in the first round. Don't know if we'll ever make it back to the Finals, but it really doesn't matter. The Mavs will always be my team. Michael makes a good point. At first I thought Cuban was making some great changes. Didn't agree with getting rid of Nash and Finley, but we've moved on. One other thing, I hated when we got rid of Kidd, and I hated the thought of him coming back. We gave up to much to get him. So now we have to rebuild and take down the West, then the championship. I believe it will happen one day, I just hope I'm alive when it happens. Haha. Well since the Hornets couldn't beat the Spurs it's time for me to root on the Lakers. Honestly, I don't care who the Spurs were playing, I'd be cheering for them regardless. I just want the Spurs out. I HATE THE SPURS...OK MAYBE NOT THE SPURS...JUST THEIR OUT OF CONTROL FANS.
